This policy outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and procedures that guide our volunteer program, ensuring a safe, respectful, and impactful experience for everyone involved.

Anchor Point is committed to maintaining a supportive and secure environment for all clients, volunteers, and staff. We strive to match each volunteer with a meaningful opportunity that aligns with their skills and interests, while upholding our core values of compassion, integrity, and service.Volunteer Eligibility
To maintain a safe and effective program:- Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Individuals aged 14–17 may volunteer in select roles with parental consent and supervision.
- All applicants must complete a formal application process and undergo required background screenings.
Background Screening Requirements
For the safety and well-being of our clients and community, all volunteers are required to successfully pass:- A criminal background check
- A child abuse and neglect registry check
- A sex offender registry check
Volunteer Onboarding Process
Our structured onboarding ensures that every volunteer is properly oriented and prepared:- Submission of a completed volunteer application
- Interview with a member of our volunteer coordination team
- Completion of required background checks
- Participation in role-specific training (as applicable)
Areas of Service
Volunteers are encouraged to contribute their time and talents across a wide range of departments:Obria Medical Clinic
Obria Medical Clinic offers comprehensive women’s health services, and volunteers play a crucial role in supporting these efforts:- Medical Volunteers: Licensed professionals such as RDMS technicians and nurses assist with ultrasounds, exams, and patient care.
- Administrative Support: Volunteers manage patient intake, organize files, and assist with scheduling and front desk operations.
- Spiritual Mentorship: Individuals provide emotional and spiritual encouragement to patients, walking alongside them during challenging moments.
Hope Family Center
Hope Family Center supports families through a variety of parenting, educational, and support services:- Boutique Management: Volunteers sort and manage clothing and essential goods for clients.
- Administrative Roles: Assist with front desk duties and organizing appointments.
- Group Leaders: Facilitate Bible studies, parenting classes, or recovery groups to build community and provide support.
Hope Counseling Center
Hope Counseling Center provides mental health support and education to individuals and families:- Education Class Support: Help facilitate or organize therapeutic and educational classes.
- Administrative Support: Assist with record-keeping, client intake, and office tasks.
- Camp & Event Volunteers: Engage with children and families during therapeutic family camps and special training events.
Hope House
Hope House is a maternity home that provides a safe, supportive environment for young women experiencing unplanned pregnancies:- Life Skills Mentors: Teach classes on budgeting, parenting, and self-sufficiency.
- Hospitality Volunteers: Help with meal preparation, driving residents to appointments, and offering overnight supervision.
- Facility Support: Assist with cleaning, organizing donations, and other essential household tasks.
Additional Opportunities
Volunteers are also needed in other areas that are essential to our mission:- Marketing & Social Media: Help manage Anchor Point’s online presence and outreach.
- Event Planning & Support: Assist with fundraising events, community outreach, and logistics.
- Volunteer Coordination: Help onboard and schedule other volunteers.

All volunteers are expected to adhere to the following professional standards:- Demonstrate respect and courtesy to clients, staff, and fellow volunteers
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold privacy at all times
- Follow all program guidelines, policies, and safety protocols
- Serve with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to Anchor Point’s mission
- Communicate openly with supervisors and fulfill assigned responsibilities
