Raising Children Godās Way, Not Just Our Way
As parents, itās natural to see our children as ours. We feed them, guide them, protect them, and dream for them. But the truth is deeper: our children are not possessions ā they are Godās. We are entrusted as stewards, called to raise them in His way, not just our own.
The story of Abraham reminds us of this powerful truth. When God asked Abraham to offer Isaac, it wasnāt because He wanted to take Isaac away ā it was a test of trust. Abraham showed that even the son he loved most belonged first to God. And in that moment, God provided, reminding us that His plans for our children are greater than our own.
Sometimes, as parents, we fall into the habit of wanting to control every detailĀ of our childrenās lives ā not out of selfishness, but because we want the best for them. Yet we must remember: Godās plans are far greater than ours.Ā His purpose goes beyond our fears, beyond our limited vision.
Thatās where peace and assurance come in: God is at work in your childās life.Ā Even when you canāt see the whole picture, you can trust His promise:
āFor I know the plans I have for you,ā declares the Lord, āplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.ā ā Jeremiah 29:11Ā āØ
To every parent: release the pressure of trying to control it all. Guide your children faithfully, love them deeply, and trust God completely. He loves them even more than you do. šæ
